
What you might be Feeling as you go through the Stages of Divorce…
The emotions that erupt as a result of separation and divorce can be absolutely frightening. You might not have known that you could possess such extreme feelings, whether they are denial, grief, sadness and depression or anger, rage, bitterness or resentment.
These are all normal feelings
The thing to remember is that these are all normal feelings attached to this traumatic Life Transition and that as is true in life…this too shall pass. You may not be able to see the future now but it exists.
You may not be able to see this divorce as the opportunity to recreate yourself and your life for the better, but it is there.
You are probably scared and confused
Angry and out of control? Depressed and can’t get out of bed? Whatever your emotions, understand that they are part of the process of ending one way of life in order to begin a new chapter in your life.
There are better coping mechanisms available to you
Know that there are better coping mechanisms available to you to make this journey a little bit easier. There are alternate perspectives that will loosen the load. There are support systems available to you to ease your mind. There are things you can do to make this process less painful and even illuminating.
