Coaching for Change/Life Coaching FAQ's

How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching works with creative and whole people who are looking to create change in their lives. Clients seek extra support in their desire to achieve specific goals. Coaches concentrate on the here and now and the future, not the past. Therapy is designed for those individuals who are seeking to understand past events in their lives that have left them with debilitating or self-defeating behaviors. See Coaching is not Therapy and Vice-Versa.

What are the costs associated with Coaching?

More often than not, Coaching is done on a monthly flat fee that varies from coach to coach. Fees can range from $200-$500 monthly. Contact Shelley to discuss her fees.

Who would benefit from Coaching?

Everyone and anyone benefits from coaching but you have to be coachable. Being coachable means that you are ready to make a positive change in your life: you are willing to commit to a weekly session; you are open to doing things differently; you are willing to put an end to self-defeating behaviors and that this is an opportune time for you to be coached, meaning you have the desire, the time and the necessary resources.

How long does Coaching last?

The answer to this question is totally contingent upon the client. Nonetheless, any Coach will tell you that a minimum of three months is needed to see measurable results. There are those people that retain a Life Coach for years as they seek to continuously grow and flourish. A typical time frame would be six months to a year.

What does success look like in Coaching?

The beauty of Coaching is the fact that each client's concept of success is different. In Coaching, the client sets the agenda: their goals, challenges and aspirations. The Coach coaches the client towards their specific vision of success.
